Metal Heart, Erzulie Dantor, Freda Veve, Haiti Wall Art, Fair Trade Home Living Decor 10" x 14"

Signed by Artist Meda
10" x 14"
The Haitian spirit of "The Fierce Mother - Erzulie Dantor" is represented by a heart pierced with a sword. This symbol is drawn onto temple floors during religious ceremonies to summon her presence. Meda Ulyssee has recreated that symbol in recycled metal. Of course, he had all of the cultural background to communicate its meaning with hammer and chisel, but we had to learn the story before we could fully appreciate the significance he struck into every detail. On a pure and elemental level, it is a beautiful representation of the strength of a mother's love.

Exquisite, truly handmade, and for an excellent cause. Arrived quickly, carefully and beautifully packaged. I will be ordering more veves in the future. They are grossly underpriced for the tremendous amount of careful labor and craftsmanship involved, so get them now, while they are a bargain...because I'm one who would have paid double. Outstanding in every way.
